Project Description

The project aims to showcase the unique village culture and Hakka traditional festive customs of Kuk Po through signature festive events, as well as associated public engagement workshops, attracting villagers and the public to gather in Kuk Po to explore its diverse potential in tourism, education, arts, agriculture, and catering. The publication of magazine “Kuk Post!” documents the past and vision of Kuk Po, serving as a connection for local and overseas villagers. It also allows the public to understand the history of Kuk Po, inherit the spirit and culture of Kuk Po, promote the revitalisation of Kuk Po, and foster urban-rural integration.

How To Get There

1 | Minibus + Hiking |

• Take green minibus No. 56K from Fanling MTR Station to Luk Keng, then hike for about 45 minutes to Kuk Po

• Reference Route: Luk Keng → Kai Kuk Shue Ha → Fung Hang → Kuk Po

Project Update

The project has been completed.

Project Outcome

•The project team organised 39 activities, attracting over 13,000 participants, including the 2024 and 2025 Chinese New Year events “Kuk Po Spring Reunion" and “Countryside Harvest Festival", which received coverage from multiple local media outlets and successfully promoted Kuk Po's stories.

•Four issues of  "Kuk Post!"  documented Kuk Po's history and vision, distributed across 32 local points and 16 international outlets in six countries/regions, connecting local and overseas villagers while fostering cultural preservation and urban-rural integration.

•The project partnered with three institutions to deliver over 80 hours of rural conservation courses, engaging more than 100 students.
