Sha Lo Tung

Sha Lo Tung is the only freshwater wetland surrounded by hills in Hong Kong. In 1997, it was designated as a “Site of Special Scientific Interest”. It is home to many rare species of insects and animals and is best known for its dragonfly diversity. More than 80 species of dragonflies have been recorded there, representing over 60% of all dragonfly species in Hong Kong.

How To Get There

1 | Minibus + Hiking |

• Take green minibus No. 20P from Tai Po Market MTR Station to Fung Yuen Village, then hike for about 35 minutes to Sha Lo Tung

• Take green minibus No. 52B from Fanling MTR Station to the junction of Hok Tau Road and Hok Tau Wai, then hike for about 50 minutes to Sha Lo Tung
