


Provision of Proactive Habitat Management and Related Services at Sha Lo Tung (2024-2026)
Project Description
The Proactive Conservation project covers about 23 ha comprising the ecologically sensitive wetland and riparian area along the 4km-long stream in Sha Lo Tung (SLT), with special focus on the following:
(1) Intensive management measures to conserve and enhance the marshes, ponds and riparian habitats;
(2) Removal of threats to the SLT environment, surveillance and regular patrol against irregularities and removal of illegal hunting devices to deter undesirable human activities;
(3) Habitat mapping and ecological monitoring in the project area; and
(4) Public education programme and the establishment of a thematic website about SLT to promote the ecological importance of SLT
