Project Description

The planning idea of "Blue and Green Recreation, Tourism and Conservation Circle" is put forward in the "Northern Metropolis Action Agenda", together with the gradual opening of the Sha Tau Kok restricted area. With adequate and appropriate planning, the ecological, heritage, traditional livelihood and cultural resources in Sha Tau Kok and Yan Chau Tong can be utilised to foster new opportunities in Hong Kong's sustainable tourism. At this crucial moment, this project aims to seize this golden opportunity to take a leading role in augmenting sustainable tourism. This is an action research project, in collaboration with a wide range of local communities and "Tourism Innovators", during which the project organisation engages key stakeholders to tap their views and stakes in tourism development and engages young "Tourism Innovators" to tap the local resource and turn it into a memorable experience. These activities include local event design, guided tour planning, and solution proposals to ensure that tourism activities meet the needs of all parties involved. The ultimate goal is to develop a comprehensive and sustainable tourism operation model with valuable insights, serving as a reference guide for sustainable tourism development in Hong Kong.
