Bumper Harvest: Hong Kong Rice Variety "Fa Yiu Tsai"

The project organisation has revitalised farmland abandoned for nearly half a century in Sai Wan, transforming it into an organic farm that cultivates a diverse varieties of organic crops, including calamondin oranges, watermelons, pineapples, butterfly pea, and 22 other seasonal vegetables. The project organisation also planted salt-tolerant rice and experimented plating of Fa Yiu Tsai, known for its unique vanilla aroma and native to Hong Kong. During the project period, visitors could participate in rice harvesting activities such as cutting, threshing, transplanting, to witness the birth of a grain of rice!
