Yim Tin Tsai

Yim Tin Tsai is a 300-year-old fishing village located on an island at the lnner Port Shelter in the New Territories. The islet has salt pans, and the villagers are mainly engaged in salt making. The village was abandoned in the 1990s when the last family moved out. With the increased interest in conservation awareness, the villagers hope that more people will appreciate heritage conservation. The revitalisation work kicked off with the help of various parties, including organising guided tours, restoring the traditional salt-making, and bringing the nearly lost craft to life again.
