Project Update

The project team recently organised the “2025 Fishpond Ecological Conservation Drawing and Colouring Calendar Competition”, under the theme of “Traditional Fishpond Ecological Environment.” The competition encouraged students to showcase the precious aspects of waterbirds, pond fish, and biodiversity through their creative works. The entries reflected the younger generation’s keen observation of fishpond ecology and awareness of nature conservation, while also showcasing their creativity and imagination. The award ceremony concluded successfully, with winning students receiving recognition at the event. Experienced fishpond operators also demonstrated traditional net‑casting techniques at the event, allowing participants to experience the unique charm of fishpond culture while appreciating the artworks. This competition further promoted the concept of fishpond conservation, and through the integration of education and arts, encouraged the public to support the vision of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature with creativity and action.
