Feasibility Study

Through the one-year Water Bus Pilot Scheme, the project added 94 ferry trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays, connecting Sam Mun Tsai, Tai Shui Hang, Lai Chi Wo, Kat O, and Ap Chau. The service recorded approximately 20,000 passenger trips. According to passenger feedback, about 90% of respondents found the new routes made it more convenient to access places like Lai Chi Wo and considered it was worth continuing the operation. Due to the enthusiastic response, the ferry company decided to continue operating this route at its own expense after the project's completion, demonstrating the feasibility of this pilot programme.
