Nam Chung
Nam Chung located in the Sha Tau Kok area of northeastern New Territories, is a multi-lineage Hakka village. Historically, the village formed the "Nam Luk Yeuk" alliance with neighboring Hakka villages including Luk Keng and Kai Kok Shue Ha. This alliance represents the eighth of the ten traditional village alliances in Sha Tau Kok, and maintains the custom of jointly holding Jiao festival every decade.
The area preserves traditional rural landscapes featuring farmland, fish ponds, and mangrove wetlands. Tsing Kun Study Hall, a Grade II historic building in the village, stands as Nam Chung's first and only old-style private school, reflecting the development of rural education in the region.
The nearby Nam Chung Country Trail is a popular hiking route that offers views of Pat Sin Leng and the Sha Tau Kok coastal scenery.
