Participants were led by an eco-tour guide on a tour of the fishpond area, where they learnt about the traditional operations and ecological value of the local freshwater fish farming industry, as well as the conservation efforts in the area. They also had the opportunity to observe a variety of waterbirds.

The Fishpond Education Kiosk has been set up in Nam Sang Wai since December 2013. Project organisation collaborated with stores to set up exhibitions and telescopes during open day. Volunteers provided explanations of fishpond ecology to participants and engaged them in games, allowing the public to learn about Nam Sang Wai and the contributions of fishpond aquaculture to wetland conservation.
