Kuk Po “Co-Joy” Workshop
To prepare for the signature event in the Lunar New Year, the project team held a series of public engagement workshops including "Hakka Qilin Dance: Qilin tail workshop", "Coloring Qilin Heads," and "Little Qilin Hat". Villagers, students, and the public participated in painting and designing patterns and motifs for the Qilin heads, as well as sewing Qilin tails (i.e. Qilin blankets), collectively creating a unique Qilin exclusive to Kuk Po village. This artwork has been presented to Kuk Po village, symbolizing the beauty and uniqueness of Kuk Po, and perpetuating Hakka traditional culture during the festive celebration.

This experience allowed students to gain insights into the history and development of the village, as well as engage in learning Hakka dialect through interactions with villagers.
