Promote Countryside Revitalisation through New In-depth Cultural and Eco-tour Activities in the Yan Chau Tong Area
Project Description
The Northeast New Territories Cultural Festival enhances the unique cultural assets and ecotourism attractions of three remote rural islands in the Yan Chau Tong area. It integrates and connects island and rural elements, uncovers new and interesting cultural and ecotourism resources, and provides the public with immersive cultural and ecotourism experiences and highlight activities to promote rural revitalisation.
The festival will be held for one month each in Kat O, Ap Chau, and Tap Mun. During weekdays when there are fewer tourists, activities and exhibitions on rural history will be featured. Special events on Saturdays and Sundays will lead the public to explore the traditional islands, learn about the festival culture via traditional performances, handicrafts, local cuisine, and experience the local culture firsthand.
