Yim Tin Tsai Narrative Map (Online)

Together with collaborators, the project team collected 183 life stories covering various themes from local and oversea Yim Tin Tsai villagers and former students of Ching Po School. 50 stories have been selected to develop the narrative map, covering religion, leisure time, campus life, and other features of the island.

The map, set against the backdrop of historic Yim Tin Tsai, incorporates the oral histories from the older generations of Yim Tin Tsai villagers, reflecting their cherished life memories passed down through generations. The project team hopes that the map could immerse readers into the bygone days of Yim Tin Tsai, and experience collectively the interactions between villagers and the missionaries, the unique cultural customs of the Hakka people, and the joy of venturing into the mountains and the sea!
