Yim Tin Tsai, known as the "Catholic Village", was the first village in Hong Kong where all villagers were baptised in Catholicism by 1875. The Feast of St. Joseph's is celebrated in the village every first Sunday of May. Villagers recall that Eucharistic Procession traverse the entire village on the Feast Day. "The priest would walk around the entire island, with prayers for blessings. The former route would be to walk along the pier all the way to our place of worship. They would also head to the salt fields. After all that, they would head back to the church. When the priest visited the Holy Ground (the graveyard), he would sprinkle holy water on each grave, which resembled individual houses." The religiouis beliefs have fostered a spiritual connection that brings the villagers together every year.
