"Smart Wetland"
"Smart Wetland" is to combine traditional wisdom with innovative technologies for wetland management. In the past, the Mai Po wetlands have been managed in conventional and traditional manners, where conservationists were required to carry out daily tasks such as vegetation management, water level control, facility maintenance, and ecological monitoring.
The project organisation has held a project briefing session to introduce the objective and background of the project. It has demonstrated how IoT technology can enhance efficiency of wetland management, as well as facilitate communications and collaboration between multiple wetland stakeholders. It aimed to promote the use of IoT applications in wetland monitoring in the remote countryside of Hong Kong, using the applications in the Mai Po Nature Reserve as a proof of concept.
