Sham Chung: Investigation of People and Environment

Sham Chung refers to a river meandering deep into the coastline. Around 200 years ago, the Hakka Lee clan migrated south and settled in the village. The project team explored the relationship between the villagers and their natural environment in Sham Chung, examining aspects such as geographical resources, ecology, history, and Hakka architecture, and highlighting the interweaving history, culture and environment in the village.

When visiting Sham Chung, you can pick up the field guide booklet about Sham Chung, explore the locations mentioned in the booklet, and contemplate the relationship between nature, ecology and human.
