Rediscovering Kuk Po: A Journey Through Time

Imagine turning a small village with just 500 words of recorded history into a rich tapestry of over 50,000 words. The project team, supported by the Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme, immersed into the village for 18 months, starting with just two village representatives and expanding to interview dozens of villagers.

With just a few scattered records and photos at the beginning, the project team soon collected valuable stories and photos from both local and overseas villagers. These treasures were then showcased through the magazine, "Kuk Post!". We also brought Kuk Po's stories to the town with exhibitions that showcased the village's century-old history. Walking through these exhibitions felt like stepping back in time, allowing people in Hong Kong and beyond to know about Kuk Po's unique heritage and bringing villagers back to Kuk Po.
