Butterflies in Lai Chi Wo
Lai Chi Wo is renowned for its rich diversity of butterflies, making it a hotspot for these vibrant insects. The area and its surroundings are home to 161 butterfly species, which represent 55% of all species found in Hong Kong. This includes 78 uncommon and rare species. Ecological surveys frequently record new butterfly species, underscoring the area's significance for butterfly conservation.
