Appreciating Rural Life Through Old Household Items
The project team dedicated over 2 years to researching and documenting information about Mui Tsz Lam. Through a combination of literature review, the collection of old household items, recording seasonal festivities, re-enactment of traditional customs, publication of a book, and organising an exhibition, the team decoded the self-sustainable living patterns of the Mui Tsz Lam village. The project has allowed us to rediscover the rich cultural customs and traditional wisdom of the Hakka villages. The project brought villagers and volunteers together to collect and sort through old household items from the collapsed village houses and restored ceramic items.
