The project organisation hosted the focus group with villagers from Kau Sai Fishermen Village, Po Toi Island, So Lo Pun Village and Yung Shue Au Village. Through the field studies, the project team had a preliminary assessment on the shared village resources. Villagers shared about their village stories, customs, practices, also talked about the visions on village revitalisation and discussed the feasibility of commoning.

The interactive workshop was also held during the Village Commoning Symposium, which allowed participants to have an immersive commoning experience. Participants were assigned one of the roles, such as government officer, villager, and NPO practitioner, and then they were given an designated village scenario inspired by real cases with specific conditions and issues, to discuss and decide in which capacity of their roles would be the most optimal to help villagers achieve their common goal.
