Centred on the themes of "Mirs Bay, Hong Kong," "Nature Conservation," and "Village Stories," the exhibition features eight zones. By combining interactive multimedia, Hakka cultural experiences, landscape photography, and musical arts, visitors can interactively explore the culture and natural habitats of rural Hong Kong, experiencing the beauty of "a Beautiful China, Beautiful Hong Kong through the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature."

The event will be divided into two parts: Part 1: The Return of a Masterwork: Tan Dun's "Cellphone Soundscape & Movement" – Ap Chau World Premiere, and Part 2: Live Performance of Countryside Music.

Part 1: The Return of a Masterwork: Tan Dun's "Cellphone Soundscape & Movement" - Ap Chau World Premiere (Complete Special Screening)

Using Hong Kong's geological wonder, Ap Chau, as a natural stage, Tan Dun crafted the cross-disciplinary masterpiece "Cellphone Soundscape & Movement". Experience the ultimate spectacle of its 1 March 2026 world premiere, fully recreated through high-fidelity audio and video!

Grounded in the philosophical essence of the "Twelve Earthly Branches", twelve dancers are placed within a landscape of mountains and water – they are nature itself, and an extension of the music. The body becomes a vessel for time and cosmic vision. Amidst the sounds of nature created by different instruments, the dancers are the wind, the leaves, and the birds... With technology as prelude, they merge with nature. The mountain and the sea perform for the dancers, while the dancers echo back with movements. This is not only a breathtaking audio-visual feast, but also an epic documentary capturing the extraordinary fusion of Hong Kong's natural wonders and world-class art. Absolutely not to be missed!

Part 2: Live Performance of Countryside Music - Led by World Harmonica Festival Champion Gordon Lee

World Harmonica Festival Champion Gordon Lee and violinist Nina Wong were featured performers at the "Hong Kong Soundscape - Opera & Dance" One Day Music Festival. Violinist Nina Wong has collaborated extensively with Tan Dun, having performed in numerous works of his. Gordon Lee and Nina Wong will join hands to perform live, delivering a selection of melodious pieces themed around "Countryside and Nature". Extending the spirit of Tan Dun's One Day Music Festival, the resonance of the harmonica and violin will transport the audience back into the enchanting rhythms of the natural landscape.

About Performers:

This special event invites renowned fine-art landscape photographer Kelvin Yuen to showcase his precious works captured at Double Haven and host a sharing session, inviting the public to appreciate the breathtaking scenery of Double Haven within Mirs Bay through his lens.

To provide the public with a comprehensive understanding of Double Haven's diverse natural landscapes and rural charm, as well as to enhance awareness of Hong Kong's rural culture and ecological conservation, Kelvin Yuen personally visited Double Haven and other remote rural areas. Relying on professional insight, he identified spots that best highlight the local landforms, natural habitats, and village features, capturing truly moving moments with professional equipment, skill, patience, and dedication. All are welcome to explore the natural charm of Hong Kong countryside through his works.

About Kelvin Yuen:

A renowned fine art landscape photographer, Kelvin won the 2015 National Geographic Photo Contest Youth Category and became the first Chinese to win the prestigious title "International Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020". Formerly a photography consultant for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, his works are displayed at the Hong Kong International Airport and were featured by Hongkong Post in 2023 as its first-ever full stamp set dedicated to a single photographer.
