Invitation of Applications under the Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme

The Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme (CCFS) has funded 45 approved projects with diverse and broad themes on nature conservation over the past 4 years since its launch.  To incentivize conservation projects covering innovative and new aspects, for the coming round of applications, the CCFS is inviting applications covering specifically the following types of projects:

  • Nature Conservation Management Agreement (MA) Projects;

  • Research Activities (RA) on Application of Smart Technology in Nature Conservation; and

  • RA for conservation of Sha Lo Tung.

 

The Countryside Conservation Office will assess applications in the order of their submission date and time, and aim to put forth a maximum of 15 competent proposals to the relevant vetting committees for further scrutiny as per the established mechanism.  The remaining applications received (if any) will not be processed under this round of assessment, unless in view of initial screening result that no sufficient meritorious applications could be identified among the first 15 applications received.

The cut-off date of application for the coming round of application assessment is 5 p.m. on 24 November 2023 (Friday). The Application Forms and the Guide to Application (Version 1.7, Sep 2023) can be downloaded from here. It is expected that the earliest time for announcement of the application results would be in April 2024.

In the event that applicants intend to submit supplementary information or provide clarifications to his/her application before the cut-off date, it will be considered as application revision. The revision date of the application will supersede the original submission date of application.

Both the original copy and the soft copy of the completed Application Form should reach the Secretariat of the CCFS before 5 p.m. on 24 November 2023 (Friday). The original copy should be addressed to 22/F, Chinachem Exchange Square, 1 Hoi Wan Street, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong and the soft copy should be emailed to [email protected]. Please mark “Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme Application” on the envelop cover and the email title column respectively. Please ensure payment of sufficient postage, the Secretariat will not accept underpaid mails nor bear the surcharge so arising. In case the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is in force for any duration between 12 noon and 5 p.m. on 24 November 2023 (Friday), the cut-off time will be extended to 5 p.m. on the next working day. Special announcement about the details will be made on the CCFS webpage.

The Secretariat reserves the right in handling process of applications received at any time in its absolute discretion without giving any reason or prior notice.
