Event Introduction
Since 2005, Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong (OPCFHK) gas launched the "University Student Sponsorship Project (USSP)" which has funded over 480 local university students to participate in field ecological research across more than 15 countries and regions in Asia. This year, OPCFHK arranged 5 students to Sichuan to learn about giant panda wild release training under the supervision of Li Desheng, Deputy Director of the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda Dujiangyan Base, focusing opn the conservation of giant pandas. To celebrate National Ecology Day and the 1st birthday of the Hong Kong-born giant panda twins, Jia Jia and De De, OPCFHK is hosting the Sichuan Giant Panda Conservation Education Exhibition. This event aims to raise public awareness and understanding of the conservation efforts for giant pandas in both Sichuan and Hong Kong. During the exhibition, panda-themed postcard and panda-shaped aroma stones will be distributed by first-come-first-served basis.
